
Dr. Yasir Mahmood is the former President and former Chairman of Lahore Stock Exchange (Guarantee) Limited, (LSE). Born in 1961, he graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College in 1987. He then joined the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 1989. After that he completed courses from New York Institute of Finance (NYIF) on Securities Clearance, Settlement and Accounting, and International Corporate Finance. He then completed a training programme on financial analysis, portfolio management, and management of stock exchanges and securities companies under the auspices of International science and technology institute.
He began his relationship with the capital market in 1990 by acting as an accredited agent to his father late M. Ashraf Mahmood (Member LSE). Dr. Yasir Mahmood served as Chairman public relation committee 1993, Vice President of LSE in 1994. He was unanimously elected President LSE in 1995 and Chairman LSE in 2001. He has served as a Director on the Board of, Central Depository Company of Pakistan in years 1994, 1995, and 2001, Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) in years 1995 and 2001, National Clearing Corporation of Pakistan in 2001. He is a member of the Consultative Group on Capital Market formed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
He is a frequent speaker at senior level training courses at the Institute of Bankers, National Institute of Public Administration, Pakistan Administrative Staff Collage, and Lahore University of Management Sciences. He is a member of several welfare organizations.
Dr. Yasir Mahmood runs a brokerage house under his own name at Lahore Stock Exchange dealing both in equity and fixed income securities.
